RootZ

RootZ

East Coast, USA
RootZ Explorers is a new initiative designed to instill positive Jewish identity, social cohesion, and civic confidence in American Jewish youth at a moment of profound cultural disruption. RootZ responds to the accelerating erosion of shared values, rising antisemitism in its modern forms, and the growing anxiety facing the next generation— by (re)establishing bonds to Jewish community.

RootZ operates on a simple but powerful premise: strong communities are built on common values, shared responsibilities, and a sense of belonging. When those foundations weaken, societies fragment—and antisemitism predictably re-emerges as a destabilizing force. RootZ addresses this challenge proactively, through an after-school program of cultural awareness, skill-building, critical thinking, storytelling and social engagement that emphasizes unity, resilience, and civic responsibility.

  • Modeled on successful Jewish Scouting programs in Israel and France
  • Fills the gap for the majority of Jewish children whose families are not Jewishly engaged, and lack access to Jewish identity during elementary school years – a key period in the development of cultural identity
  • Families embark on a quest through simulation, storytelling, experiential learning, and innovative technology in a safe learning environment
  • Supports parents and grandparents on their identity journey.

RooZ Explorers are like ‘Tzofim’ or ‘Scouts’
But for Jewish American kids and their Parents
