ILAY’s project
Tel Aviv, Israel
Ilay’s Project was established in loving memory of Ilay Nachman, who was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, while heroically defending others at the Nova music festival. Ilay was a surfer, a mentor, and a young man who lived with generosity of spirit and deep care for his community.

For Ilay, the ocean wasn’t just a passion — it was freedom, connection, and pure celebration of life. The Poleg Surfing Club was his second home, where he greeted countless sunrises, forged lifelong friendships, and became a role model for younger surfers. His heart stopped, but his spirit remains.
Ilay’s Project honors his legacy by creating resilient communities through the healing power of the sea. We’re building a national therapeutic pathway connecting Israel’s surf clubs — offering transformative healing journeys for participants, strengthening professional collaboration among therapeutic teams, and creating a supportive community grounded in shared values, care, and mutual responsibility. Through the ocean, we continue what Ilay lived every day: connection, courage, community, and love.
